Boy 15, Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral Palsy
A 15-years-old boy from Poland.
The patient was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. He visited the hospital and accompanied by his parents.
At first, he could not do the basics of daily living tasks on his own at all. He had problems with deformities of legs and spine, impaired postural control, impaired vision, impaired speech, and motor function.
After he came for rehabilitation programs at BBH hospital, he has gradually improved his abilities so far. He started rolling over the bed on his own more. He has better control of his body while sitting and in a standing position. He uses his hands to do more activities. Also, he can follow the therapist’s instructions to exercise his legs. He needs guidance to do hip knee flexion but he can do hip-knee extension by himself. He can respond to some movement of postural reactions such as extending neck while leaning trunk forward, flexing neck laterally while shifting his body to each side. He can get up to sit straight with minimal assistance from a therapist.
